A while back I was reading the news that the Firefly Online Big Damn Hero package will entitle you to have an adventure in said crappy town and earn a statue of yourself. I loved that episode… but it got me to thinking. In all the games I’ve played, I’ve been the hero in many a crappy town and I can only think of 3 examples where I got a statue.
- Baldur’s Gate 2: Shadow of Amn, if you jump through all the hoops in Trademeet.
- Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. One of the later main quests will give you a statue in Bruma. I remember reloading to an earlier save and basically redoing the quest, when I found out exactly when your appearance was locked in for the statue so I could remove my stupid hat. That hat did not deserve preserving for posterity.
- Dragon Age: Inquisition. The Hero of Ferelden (from DA: Origins) gets a statue in Redcliffe. It’s a generic griffin statue (representing the Wardens) but it’s definitely a statue.
I really need to start bothering to try and remove the UI for screenshots…
and… that’s all I can remember. Any others? :)
