I’m still trying to find more sustainable ways of living, though I haven’t been writing about it. It feels a bit strange writing about it here as it is primarily a gaming blog… and I’m also worried about coming across as preachy or smug. I’ve decided, though I will carry on, if nothing else it will remind me of changes I have made and want to make.
So what can we do?
- write to your local political representative(s) and ask that they support green initiatives for local issues
- sign petitions
- support a charity
- refuse/reduce/reuse/repurpose/recycle
- join groups (tons of opportunities but I like 1 million women for lazy reading and for good ideas and I also attend our local beach cleans)
- write to companies that you regularly shop with and ask them to reduce plastic packaging, or to reduce their single-use plastics.
- eat less meat and dairy
- vote for candidates who seem committed to green issues
I’m planning on doing some further posts on using less plastic, some vegetarian recipes, links to people to follow / blogs to read, links to carbon footprint calculators etc, being a ‘green’ gamer – is there anything you would like to see?
