Journal of Elfa: Days 33 – 35

Day 33 Turdas, 18th of Hearthfire

I arrived at Raven Rock. The architecture is very different to anything I have ever seen before. The houses seem to have an enormous shell for a roof and the house is constructed beneath that and into the ground. I have booked a room for a few nights at the local Inn, The Retching Netch. Scattered around the town are lots of these new herbs – so far I have found Scathecraw and Trama Root. I spoke to the local alchemist and she told me some of their properties. I have been warned about venturing outside of the town, although if I stay within eyesight I should be safe enough.

Day 34 Fredas, 19th of Hearthfire

I explored west and south of the town today, mostly along the coastline as that seemed safest. There is a strange tower being built just outside, it felt rather ominous and the workers seemed… distracted. Anyway, I gathered lots of Ashen Grass Pods, Creep Clusters, Ash Yam and Pearl Oyster. I wonder if any of these plants will grow in Skyrim? I spotted some Netch while out on my walk – they were utterly mesmerising and beautiful in a strange way.

Day 35 Loredas 20th of Hearthfire

I am still shaking as I write this. I woke up with this terrible voice booming in my head and as I woke up and shook free of the voice, I realised I was taking part in the construction of that creepy shrine. I tried to speak to my fellow workers but they just ignored me. I hurried back to town and gathered my things together – I want no part of this! I went back to the ship and asked for passage back to Windhelm. I arrived late and am now safe and warm. I am slightly reluctant to sleep – the memory of that – sleepwalk? – is still strong.
