Oh my head… I should have known better… Why didn’t I hire a mercenary to guard the caravan? All my fine wines in the hands of Bandits! They attacked out of nowhere and I’ve lost everything. I liquidated everything I owned to fund this venture. I have nothing! My only possessions are a few apples, a waterskin, a torch, and 1 gold piece the bandits fortunately didn’t find. I looked around the wreckage and found a couple of useable sacks.

I wandered along the road to Whiterun. I realised that I would need money fast so I gathered herbs and flowers as I travelled. There was little trouble along the road, aside from a few wolves. I’m no adventurer but my torch and dagger proved enough. I skinned the wolves, I need absolutely everything I can get.
Whiterun is a busy, fairly prosperous town but they seem friendly enough. While I was asking for directions, I got talking to Adrianne Avenicci who offered me the use of her forge if I helped around the place. She directed me towards Arcadia’s Cauldron to offload my herbs. Arcadia is very nice, when she saw I had an interest in Alchemy, she offered to teach me some basic alchemy recipes in exchange for ingredients. It can’t be that different from wine-making, can it? I sold her the ingredients I had, so I could buy some dinner and a room at The Bannered Mare.
It is expensive though. I noticed some tents at Warmaidens, perhaps I could camp until winter sets in at least.
