Morndas, 18th of Last Seed, 4E 201 (Journal)
I spend the morning exploring Whiterun’s outskirts. I found some work at the farms, digging up vegetables for some gold. As I passed the tower on the South Eastern corner, the local soldiers were dealing with some bandits, I stayed clear until they were dealt with. It was pretty vile (and desperate), but once the soldiers were out of sight, I stripped the corpses of their armour and weapons. It feels very dangerous here, it is a stark contrast to home, although I barely left the vineyard. The roads from the vineyard to Skingrad were well patrolled and well populated with merchants and workers. Skyrim seems desolate in comparison, although incredibly beautiful.
I returned to Whiterun dragging my sack of armour behind me. Adrianne was very pleased to take them off my hands. In return, she taught me how to use the Forge equipment and I made my very own dagger!
At Arcadia’s Cauldron I practiced my alchemy, I do believe I improved today, and sold some ingredients and potions. I need to save up some money as Arcadia believes I have caught a disease – probably from those filthy bandit bastards. She also mentioned a Meadery just outside of town, perhaps they need an assistant and I can put my skills to use? I also bought a book from Arcadia “Herbalist’s Guide to Skyrim”, which will hopefully assist me in finding herbs and other ingredients.
I stayed another night at The Bannered Mare – the service is pretty good there. Too pricy for me though. I have starting reading my book, I think I need to venture further afield to find different and more exotic herbs. Around Whiterun I have found Lavender, Tundra Cotton and various colours of Mountain Flowers.
